This is a compilation of clips showing trains in Ireland recorded in 2008 and 2009. It is Part Two of a series that will cover the period 2007 to 2014.
There is a variety of short and long clips as they were recorded in between taking photographs, which was my primary interest back then. Also, as these clips were recorded nearly a decade ago, the video quality for a lot of the clips is only 480p. Hopefully they may still be of interest.

Part Six: 2014 - • Trains In Ireland: 2014
Following on from Part One which covered 2007 ( • Trains In Ireland: 2007 ), 2008 saw the expansion of services operated by the new Intercity Railcars (ICRs), initially out of Dublin Connolly, and then out of Dublin Heuston. This meant the end of the Mark 2 carriages and the beginning of the end for the Mark 3 carriages. Included in this video is a scene of Baby GM 146 in Limerick, shunt releasing a Mark 3 set that arrived from Dublin Heuston, something that would end when the ICRs took over completely. Also included in this compilation is 082 on the final timber train from Sligo.
As the number of loco-hauled passenger services decreased, the 071s and some 201s migrated to freight and engineering trains which in turn saw the Baby GM fleet (121 / 141 / 181 Classes) get smaller. The black/orange livery also continued to decline across the fleet.
This was also the era when DART EMU's started to visit Drogheda DMU depot to have their wheels turned. The Kildare Route Project was also in full swing, with the mainline between Cherry Orchard and Hazelhatch & Celbridge being increased to four tracks.
