Twisty Puzzles and Rubik's Cube

Recently Tim was sent a picture of a twisty puzzle. The owner, who's son had been given the puzzle by a teacher, was trying to work out what the puzzle would look like once solved.

This set Tim off to try and find out which twisty puzzle it actually was (there are many designs) and also to explore some of the twisty puzzles in his collection.

Tim's most treasured twisty puzzle is a Rubik's Cube from the late 1970s, with all the instructions in Hungarian - the puzzle was invented in Hungary by Ernő Rubik. Tim's puzzle is one of the early versions, before it was released worldwide in about 1980. However there is something else special about Tim's Rubik Cube, but you will need to watch the video to find out what that is!!
