RBF Morph enables the deployment of interactive models in #virtualreality. In this example, high-fidelity #cfd calculations are used to prepare data that are then processed by AI algorithms and compressed to enable real-time interaction.

The CFD model of a car running in a virtual wind tunnel has been parameterized with #rbf Morph to capture accurate snapshots of the flow. The reduced-order model achieves the same accuracy as the high-fidelity #simulation in less than a second—an outstanding achievement compared to the full CFD analysis, which takes about an hour of wall-clock time in this case.

The resulting models are not only interactive but also portable. We use FMI (Functional Mock-up Interface) technology to package the full simulation into FMUs. The FMU reader, combined with a scene—such as the RBF Auto Salon shown in this video—allows the creation of an app for VR. In this example, we are using the #metaquest3.
