A Tal Shiar covert team has their minds read to the molecular level. The Borg Collective attempts assimilation — and fourteen cubes go silent simultaneously, overwhelmed by a single transmission written in quantum-encoded physics.
No weapon works. No alliance is enough. No scientific theory holds.
The only thing standing between three hundred thousand people on Velar IV and cosmic displacement is a Federation captain willing to stand before something incomprehensible and tell the absolute truth about what humanity is.
This is the story of what happens when Star Trek’s fundamental optimism — the belief that the universe is knowable, that diplomacy works, that science explains everything — meets something that makes optimism feel very, very small.
