The STIHL AP System cordless chainsaws are a great option for both professionals and those with larger gardens that have trees & overgrown shrubs. All the chainsaws in the AP System range are powerful yet quiet, have low vibration, and are very easy to use & control. This makes them suitable for a range of tasks, including cutting firewood, landscape maintenance, horticulture and for chainsaw work indoors or in enclosed spaces.

Our range of AP battery powered chainsaws are great for arborists and ground workers who can use them by the chipper to cut larger branches before processing. They could even be used in fencing operations where the tops of the posts can be easily and neatly cut to length. The AP System cordless chainsaw line-up has 4 models to choose from; 3 back handle chainsaws for use on the ground, & 1 top handle model for trained arborists.

🔶 STIHL MSA 160 C-B Cordless Chainsaw 🔶
First in the range is the STIHL MSA 160 C-B. This cordless chainsaw is more suitable for domestic jobs or light use in a professional’s day. It comes with Quick Chain Tensioning as standard so you can tighten the chain without additional tools. Simply release the sprocket cover and turn the thumbwheel to loosen or tighten the chain.

It also comes equipped with our Ematic chain lubrication system, which uses up to 50% less chain oil, and the QuickStop Super chain brake. The chain stops running either when the front handguard is switched on or when you release the rear handle. The STIHL electric motor is extremely energy efficient too, so with the recommended AP 200 battery, it will give you a battery life of up to 42 minutes. The MSA 160 C-B comes with a 12” guide bar.

🔶 STIHL MSA 200 C-B Cordless Chainsaw 🔶
Next in the range is the STIHL MSA 200 C-B. This chainsaw shares a similar design to the MSA 160 C-B, however, it’s approximately 44% more powerful. The MSA 200 C-B also has metal bumper spikes which help with control when cross-cutting larger timber. The recommended AP 300 battery will give you up to 45 minutes working time with the MSA 200 cordless chainsaw. The AP 300 battery must be used with the MSA 200 to get the full 1.8kW power from the tool. If you use the AP 200 battery it will still work, but with reduced power.

The MSA 200 C-B comes with a 14” guide bar and both saws come with our quarter inch Picco Micro 3 saw chain, which gives an excellent cut but with low vibrations. The soft-grip handles give you a comfortable grip at all times too.

🔶 STIHL MSA 220 C-B Cordless Chainsaw 🔶
Next in the line-up is the STIHL MSA 220 C-B, a powerful cordless chainsaw with a 3/8 PS3 chain which means it’s wide enough to be used when felling as you can put a wedge in the tree to help control the fell. The MSA 220 C-B is best suited to felling, snedding and processing timber and with a chain speed of 24 metres per second and 2.1kW of power, it is a direct equivalent of our MS 201 C-M petrol professional chainsaw.

With this more powerful motor, the recommended AP 300 S battery will give up to 37 minutes working time. The AP 300 S battery should be used with the MSA 220 C-B to get the full 2.1 kW power from the chainsaw. If you use the AP 300 battery it will still work, but you’ll have a reduced power output of 1.8 kW.

To operate the AP range chainsaws, just click in the battery, release the chain brake & pull up the trigger. You don’t need to force the chainsaw through the cut, let the chain do the work, and remember to keep your saw chain sharp too. To check how much charge is left, use the LED display on the battery. You can easily check the level of chain oil in your chainsaw too with the transparent oil tank.

These saws are part of the STIHL Lithium-Ion AP System which uses interchangeable 36V batteries. The batteries will fit any tool in the range, including an extensive selection of lawnmowers, hedge trimmers & long reach hedge trimmers, pole pruners, brush cutters, leaf blowers and Kombi tools.

Always read the manual before using any chainsaw and make sure you use the correct PPE. With a chainsaw, you should be wearing cut-retardant trousers or chaps, cut-retardant boots or wellies, goggles and gloves and a visor. When cutting above shoulder height, we advise wearing a helmet.
