Here is a demo showing one way to get into Lolasana. Last time I was with Carrie Owerko at Wanderlust Hollywood she taught us these fun swinging movements from a modified knees bent version of Purvottanasana to Lolasana using two bricks.
First, work on the lift up from Dandasana ⬆. Then lift up and pull back ↩. Practice this swinging back and forth a few times to build arm and core strength. Using momentum practice bending one leg like Virasana and keep the other leg in Dandasana. Switch back and forth between legs. Then bend both legs and hook the ankles together and balance in Lolasana. Swing back and forth and enjoy the ride 😄
📝 This is not for injured wrists, elbows or shoulders, nor menstruating students. Also, the student should have a good Dandasana. If Lolasana is a gateway to arm balancing, then a solid Dandasana is the ticket there ;-) Ok, now practice. Go on and do it...do it...do it 'til you're satisfied (whatever it is).

Note: There may be more prep work to practice if this is very challenging. I will create another video showing some basic abdominal strengthening asanas as well as some which help bring stability to shoulders.
