🚐💨 Today we leave southern Normandy behind and head north, but first we make a special stop in the charming town of Alençon 🇫🇷, capital of the Orne department and known as the City of Dukes 👑.

🏰 We'll stroll through its history-filled streets, starting at the Maison d'Ozé, a 15th-century mansion that was home to nobles and now houses the tourist office 🌿. From there we'll cross its local market 🥖🧀 to reach the imposing Basilica, with its Flamboyant Gothic portal and Renaissance stained glass that survived World War II ✨.

🚶‍ We'll continue along the Grand Rue and through the picturesque Saint-Léonard district 🏡, with its cobblestone streets, half-timbered houses and historic courtyards. Next to the Saint-Léonard Church ⛪ we'll discover gems like the Maison à l'Étal.

⚔️ Our tour will take us to the Castle of the Dukes of Alençon, with its crenellated towers recalling its medieval past and its surprising history as a prison until 2010. Nearby, at Place Foch, we'll see the elegant Town Hall and the former Wheat Market, now transformed into a cultural space 🎭.
