Silver impregnation techniques are generally poorly understood and even harder to master, but with a little experimentation and patience, acceptable results can be routinely achieved. In this first of a series of videos on silver impregnation techniques, I demonstrate the critical steps required for impregnation of reticular fibers using the Gordon & Sweets method. This is an argyrophilic method based upon use of ammoniacal silver. A separate video will be posted to demonstrate correct preparation and handling of this highly sensitive reagent.
