Columbus Modern Dance Company rehearses Doris Humphrey's 'Water Study'

Описание к видео Columbus Modern Dance Company rehearses Doris Humphrey's 'Water Study'

Created in the early years of modern dance, Doris Humphrey’s Water Study (1928) is remarkable in many ways. Perhaps most striking, the work has no musical score. The dancers’ movements and the sound of their breathing evoke the ebb and flow of the ocean tide. Classical 101’s Jennifer Hambrick goes inside a rehearsal of Columbus Modern Dance Company as the dancers prepare to perform Water Study in a unique restaging for the company by Ohio State University Dance Professor Valarie Williams.
