Check out this great coin set that I finally found and purchased! Even has a low set #44. I have kept my eyes out for this set for a while, and I've only ever seen high set numbers, broken sets, or astronomical prices. I finally found one for a good price, low set number, and a complete set. I couldn't say no.

In 1938, the nickel design changed from the Buffalo Nickel to the Jefferson Nickel, in which the US Mint held a design competition(like they do when they change the design of most coins). Felix Schlag entered this design, and won the contest! The US Mint wanted to change the design to make it a little more "regal" and less art-deco style, which led to the design that became the reverse of the nickel as we know it, and a different font on the coin's obverse and reverse.

These coins are minted in .999 fine silver, and are a tribute to Schlag's design. They were commissioned in 2002 by the Full Step Nickel Club, and only 1,938 were minted, honoring the year the Jefferson Nickel started.
