The Keykeeper has lost his keys! What now?

Getting new door keys wasn't that big of a deal, as the doors were still using the factory key cut and blank. The ignition key was another story, hence the reason for this whole adventure. We do have a new lock cylinder in there now, as the old one had no codes on it for the locksmith to make new keys from.

Here's what's really interesting though...both the Caprice wagon and this truck are 1993 models. In their particular configurations, there were about 900 identically equipped vehicles produced. It gets more interesting still. Someone rekeyed nearly all of the door and miscellaneous compartment locks on my Caprice. (I don't know about the ignition key.) The exact opposite was true on this truck. Go figure...when you consider all of the above, isn't that weird?
