Transcript: I wanna talk about hard times specifically illness and #chronicillness and #disease. It's so easy to say that everything is gonna be okay. And for me, with what I was going through with my #illness, I knew in my heart that everything was gonna be okay, and I was going to get better, but in the moment, especially when you've been dealing with issues for months and they're not letting up, and it seems like you're doing everything you can on your end, but nothing externally is changing. It's frustrating, and it's tiring going to appointments after appointments, trying different #medications and #supplements and going through potential side effects and spending money on all these things, all the while, time's passing you by. And I don't like to complain or pity party, I'm sharing this because for me, I felt so alone in what I was going through, but I knew that I wasn't alone in my experiences, and that I'm making this because if I could make someone feel less lonely and more understood, then that would be great. But, you know, you're not meant to be positive all the time, especially if that's not truly how you feel and you're hiding your true feelings. That's not healthy. In this age of #manifesting and #positivity which are things that I strongly, strongly believe in, there's a lot of #spiritualbypassing and it's easy for people to say, like, just think positive and, you know, just. Just think positive. And it's easy to lose empathy and minimize people's experiences, but the reality of hard times is that it is a hard time and it's easy to romanticize suffering, but you know, when you're going through it, it is it is hard. And I'm making this video to to say that I I see you, and I empathize with you truly, with whatever you might be going through, and kind of relate to you, so that may be you feel less alone. And my reality was that I felt like a failure because I was bedridden and I couldn't cook for myself or clean the basic things that you're supposed to do for yourself. My house was a mess, and I hate when things are messy. It's like it's like an overload to my brain, and it gets super overwhelming. And I pride myself on being at least somewhat organized and having it physically look that way in my space. But putting one thing away or doing one load of laundry exhausted me, and I've cried so many times, and I've been so angry and sad and felt all this range of emotions and all the while I didn't want to magnify the situation or have a pity party or give the illness more power by paying attention to it or using illness as an excuse. But what I've been learning and trying to employ is balance and not being too hard on myself, but also not being too easy, like still making an effort to do what I can and not completely giving up and or into my symptoms. and being gentle with myself, but also firm, doing what I can, but not overextending. I've always been someone that's hyper aware of myself and my thoughts, and in this case, I'm using it to keep that balance and also in this case, I'm extending that awareness to my body rather than just my thoughts and I am not perfect. I'm just doing the best that I can, but my heart truly goes out to you and whatever you're dealing with. And I'm not here to tell you, oh, don't worry, it's gonna get better. That's not what this video is for. Although I do believe you and I will get better, but I'm here to tell you that you're not alone and I see you, and I empathize truly with your hard times. I feel you. I've been there, too, and everything you have gone through, I truly empathize with you to my core I love you. I see you and you are not alone.
