Educational video for children that introduces what Roman numerals are. Roman numerals are the numbering system used in the Roman Empire, more than 2,000 years ago. The origin of this system is even older, it comes from the Etruscan civilization, a people who lived in Tuscany, Italy, about 2,900 years ago. The Romans represented numbers by drawing them like sticks. This means, they drew as many sticks as units they had to count. For example, the number 1 is represented by one stick. The numbering system is made up of seven capital letters and each letter has a numerical value.
