Tirhut College of Physical Education, Muzaffarpur was established first as an Institute, then as a school, and now as a college serving the cause of Physical Education since 1938. The college at present is situated at Jhaphan at a distance of 7 miles from the heart of the city of Muzaffarpur on the main road leading to Sitamarhi.

Facilities include two gymnasiums, an administrative building, separate boys and girls hostel, staff quarters, a swimming pool, classrooms, a stadium, a track, a covered stadium for indoor games, a library, etc.
