Watch out for non-compete clauses 👀

Non-Compete = an agreement, or clause, that outlines where an employee is not allowed to work after leaving their current employer; they try to stop former employees from revealing trade secrets, or taking strategies, to a competing business.

Non-compete clauses have existed in employment contracts for quite some time now - but right now, in the United States, the Federal Trade Commission (with support from President Biden), is trying to ban non-competes.

They estimate that removing this clause, and allowing employees to work wherever they like, could increase wages by $300 billion per year.

There is opposition from the Chamber of Commerce and Congress, so we’ll have to keep an eye on this!
