Mike Falzone presents the Surrounded crowd work show live from The Stand in New York City featuring Ian Fidance, Chris Turner, Katrina Davis, Matt Lopes and Stef Dag.

Surrounded is a stand up show in the round. The show originated in the lab at The Hollywood Improv back in 2018 and has since been toured all over the United States and Canada, appearing at JFL festivals, Netflix is a Joke, Moontower, New York Comedy Festival and many more.

What is Surrounded?: The "Surrounded" crowdwork show is a stand-up comedy performance where the comedian is placed in the center of the room, completely surrounded by the audience. Instead of performing written material, the comedian creates their set on the fly by engaging directly with the crowd.
Key characteristics
Theater-in-the-round: The stage is in the middle of the room, with the audience sitting in a circle around the performer, creating an intimate and immersive atmosphere.
Audience-driven material: Jokes and comedic bits are improvised based on real-time interactions with audience members. The comedian asks questions, engages in witty banter, and draws humor from people's stories and reactions.
Unpredictability: Because each show is a unique, spontaneous interaction, the performance is highly unpredictable. The focus is on the comedian's ability to think on their feet and improvise.
Origin: The "Surrounded" format was created at the Hollywood Improv Lab in 2019 and is often performed there. It has since expanded to other venues and festivals, including a VR experience.

While the "Surrounded" crowdwork show is a comedic event, there is also a popular web series and podcast from Jubilee Media with the same name. This version, however, features a person with a particular viewpoint debating 25 people with opposing opinions, rather than a stand-up comedy performance.
