Instructions: Start with slightly flattened balls of dough; the size of the balls depends on the size of your recipe, and how many rolls you want to make. For a recipe using about 3 cups of flour, divide the dough in half. To make typical-size dinner rolls, divide each piece of dough into 8 wedges.

Working with one wedge at a time, fold the edges into the middle, forming a small pouch.

Place the ball of dough seam-side down on the board (a.k.a. your work surface), cup your hand over it, and lightly roll it into a ball, using the friction of board to help with the rounding.

If the dough doesn’t “catch” on the board, wipe the board with a damp towel. You want the dough to stick lightly as you roll, creating friction.

Place the finished roll in a lightly greased pan, and repeat with the remaining dough.
