Описание к видео Humanitarian Responses with Foreign Aid and USAID┃CID Spotlight Series: The Future of US Foreign Aid

Humanitarian Responses with Foreign Aid and USAID was the third event in The CID Spotlight Series: "The Future of US Foreign Aid".

This third event was moderated by CID Faculty Affiliate Robert Jenkins, Lecturer on Education, Harvard Graduate School of Education and featured Abby Maxman, CEO of Oxfam America, Jeremy Konyndyk, President of Refugees International, and Matthew M. Kavanagh, Director, Georgetown University-UNAIDS Collaborating Centre on Inequality and Policy. The event focused on the future of US foreign aid and humanitarian assistance, discussing the potential impacts of recent funding freezes and proposed cuts. Panelists shared insights on the immediate consequences of these changes, including effects on global health initiatives and humanitarian operations, while also exploring strategies for engaging with decision-makers and the public to address these concerns. The discussion emphasized the importance of continued global engagement and the need for diverse funding sources, as well as the potential legal and congressional actions to counter the administration's controversial decisions regarding foreign aid.

This timely CID Spotlight Series, "The Future of US Foreign Aid," will bring together influential decision-makers with firsthand experience in shaping policies, directing aid initiatives, and overcoming development challenges. Join us for an unfiltered look at the evolving role of US foreign assistance and its impact on the world.
