While we wish the Lenovo Legion Tower 5i had a more accessible USB-C connector and are unimpressed with some of the included bloatware, the desktop's performance is nearly legendary for a mid-range PC. You won't be able to accomplish 4K on high settings or make good use of ray tracing, but you will get excellent 1080p performance. In our tests, we were able to play several demanding AAA titles at extremely high settings with little affect on performance. Only when we enabled ray tracing or VRAM-hungry operations such as motion blur did we observe screen tearing. In addition to its excellent mid-range performance, this PC is visually appealing. Its venting, which spans over the chassis's front, top, and back, not only keeps the internals cool, but also allows lots of RGB lighting from the cooling fans and the Legion logo to shine brightly.

This HP Victus 15L is one of those "almost there" PCs, offering good 1080p performance at a reasonable price. In terms of design, it's a rather plain, no-frills affair that is only enhanced by a single RGB zone of lights in the shape of a V cut into the front. It is available in white or black and replaces the see-through glass panels found on more expensive gaming desktops with an all-aluminum shell. If I had to define the HP Victus 15L's performance in one word, I'd say mercurial. I've managed to play Battlefield 2042 on relatively high settings on 4K at 60Hz, but booting up Control at 1080p, even at its highest settings, causes the PC to the shutdown. This means that the performance you'd expect from an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 is available. However, when you reach its limits, the HP Victus 15L will do more than just provide slow performance.

The Acer Predator Orion 7000, the latest addition to its Predator brand, is a monolith of a PC, which means it looks like a true gorgeous space monolith, but it's far from silent. Rather, it is so loud that if you wanted to go on vacation but couldn't, you could get halfway there by closing your eyes and pretending to be on a plane. That is how loud the fans become while in "gaming mode". Even while gaming, the fans do not spin up too frequently on the standard power setting, although they will at some time during the session. If you value immersion while playing, you will find it broken by the Orion 7000. However, the PC outperforms in all other areas, making it one of the best machines we've seen in a while. It is beautifully designed, especially the ARGB lighting. It has more ports than a leopard's markings. Its relatively spacious chassis is neatly planned out, giving you plenty of room to personalize and upgrade the PC in the future.
