Every farming season small-scale vegetable farmers often encounter challenges caused by pests such as invasive insects and birds. To control them, some resort to use of harsh methods such as chemical sprays while others employ traditional methods deemed safer than the toxic ones. On this week's Smart Farm, our reporter Denis Otieno caught up with one farmer who is using old compact discs to scare away birds invading his farm.
