Is it a hit or is it a miss?

That's the question on everyone's lips as Violinski's follow-up to "Clog Dance", a song titled "Save Me", undergoes scrutiny on the enduring panel show. Judging the new release are Flick Colby, Anne Nightingale, Joe Brown, and David Wilkie, with Noel Edmonds hosting. This episode aired on BBC 1, Saturday 23rd June 1979.

Violinski was a rock band formed in 1977 by Electric Light Orchestra violinist Mik Kaminski with former ELO member Mike de Albuquerque on guitar and vocals. In March 1979, Violinski achieved their moment of fame with their instrumental track “Clog Dance”, which reached Number 17 on the UK Singles Chart. They released two albums: “No Cause for Alarm” (1979) and “Stop Cloning About” (1980).

Juke Box Jury was a music panel show that aired on BBC Television. The show was based on the American show Jukebox Jury, which itself was an offshoot of a long-running radio series. The programme was hosted by David Jacobs from 1959 to 1967, Noel Edmonds in 1979, and Jools Holland from 1989 to 1990. The show’s format involved a guest panel reviewing new record releases in a 25-minute programme, extended to an hour for some Christmas shows.
