Rarest Train I Ever Filmed! Dupps Railroad Company DUKX

Unusual train! Private railroad makes public appearance with tiny General Electric switcher at unprotected railroad crossing! I got lucky to catch this industrial railroad in use. Dupps Railroad in Germantown, Ohio. Dupps owns nearly 5 miles of track that runs from Carlisle, Ohio with a CSX interchange to Germantown, Ohio to Dupps Company. Dupps has 4 tracks, an awesome GE end cab switcher and a dozen or so older railroad cars. Dupps rarely runs a train all the way to CSX. That only happens 3 or 4 times a year. Most of their operations are moving cars loaded with huge equipment from one area to another. The train goes outside their property about 2 or 3 times a week when moving equipment for painting or construction. I got lucky to catch that happening on October 25-2019 CE. The train uses a one man crew. I filmed the train crossing Warren Street a couple times with heavy loads. This equipment sells for over a million dollars and when they make a sale, the train moves the loads to CSX for pickup. I also filmed some of their track and a huge trestle with gates to keep trespassers off the bridge. Also, of interest, is a covered bridge near the tracks and an old caboose that was left on a non cut off siding in town. Alleys and sidewalks parallel the tracks through town so it was easy to film. The Dupps 5 mile long spur continued on all the way across Ohio until it was removed in the 1980s. At the CSX connection there was also a railroad diamond with another connection to Norfolk Southern at Carlisle, Ohio. That appears to have been removed not very long ago. This is one railroad that I would really, really love to film in operation. Could you imagine how awesome it would look seeing this red locomotive and a couple freight cars going past homes and cross buck crossings? The tracks have a mix of sectional rail and welded rail with thick ballast and the vegetation is maintained. Most of the ties are in pretty good shape. The tracks are used so infrequently that I bet there is never a shine on the rails. There is a sidewalk that goes along the tracks all the way to Dupps but the last part is overgrown and neighbors have been dumping tree branches across it. I got burrs all over my pants.
