Taking responsibility for the 91%
Heading up “the largest university in the UK after the OU”, whose extra-curricular work with 100,000 children is proven to raise attainment and aspiration, Helen is well placed to share her thoughts on the power of learning beyond school. In this talk she explores the potential of the 91% and asks the question, “If our children spend only 9% of their lives in school, who’s responsibility is it to really educate our children?” Helen challenges us to think about joining the dots between school, home and community, particularly for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to ensure all children have bright futures.
