Gaps in SNAP access and adequacy undercut SNAP’s positive impacts, and too many disabled individuals and households struggling to put food on the table are left underserved. With the end of emergency allotments and the looming end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE), this community is experiencing a hunger cliff.

This year, Congress is considering changes to SNAP as part of the 2023 Farm Bill. Join us to discuss the importance of strengthening SNAP as part of a comprehensive strategy to promote disability economic justice.

We discuss how the Disability Economic Justice Collaborative (DEJC) SNAP policy recommendations have the potential to address SNAP access and adequacy. We also share strategies on tackling the hunger cliff and provide best practices to engage the disability community in the Farm Bill debate for authentic and inclusive advocacy.
