Four seventh-grade girls have created a dish so tasty and nutritious that it has been chosen to be added to Fairfax County Public Schools lunch menus.

The girls entered their dish in the Real Food for Kids culinary challenge, a competition for students across the D.C. area.

The team members, Ellie Whiteman, Hannah Lee, Anvita Gandi and Janya Patel, are students at Franklin Middle School in Chantilly.

They call their entrée the Vegejita Wrapadilla. It’s a quesadilla stuffed with green and red bell peppers, tomatoes, and onions. They serve it with a black bean/corn/tomato salad, alongside guacamole and a slice of watermelon sprinkled with chili powder and lime zest, according to a statement from Fairfax County Public Schools.
