DIY Woven Wood Window Shades Hack | Faux Bamboo Blinds

I LOVE the look of woven wood window shades but the price tag on those for 4 windows that I won't ever close is HEFTY. Especially when you throw in a couple custom size windows (I'm looking at you bay window!). Today I'm sharing how I made my own faux bamboo blinds for $40 TOTAL for all four windows. It's a total hack and it's also the one thing I've been asked to share a tutorial for the most since we started remodelling our new place last year!

These DIY woven wood window shades don't actually lower to cover the whole window. They give the look and warmth of bamboo shades without the functionality. If privacy were something you needed (we really don't in this space!), you can totally mount these over a pull down shade. So when the blinds/shade is open- this is how it looks. Oh la la!
