We’ve been keeping and breeding this species for a few years now, and they’ve easily become one of the most entertaining animals to observe in the office. Since they do great in groups, there’s always at least one newt on the move, making the tank endlessly fun to watch. In the wild, Kaiser #Newts are extremely restricted in range, found only in four streams in the southern Zagros Mountains of Iran. We built this setup with a universal rock panel as the substrate, just like our marbled newt enclosure, which gives the newts solid grip and aesthetics, while keeping maintenance simple. The flow of the stream is powered by one of our Turtle Clean 25 filters which lets us adjust the flow for different times of the year.
