9GAG ceo confirms the upcoming launch of $MEME on Memeland

Ray Chan, the CEO of 9GAG, confirmed the upcoming launch of $MEME on Memeland. Although an exact date has not been specified, many are anticipating a June release.

In recent months, many major projects have opted to avoid or cancel tokens with the regulatory ambiguity plaguing the US and the current SEC probe into Apecoin. Memeland is conveniently based out of Hong Kong, where there are considerably less risk than launching a token in the US.

Ray also had some comments on the recent announcements out of Hong Kong, the TLDR he provided is:

Hong Kong will begin regulating digital asset trading businesses in June
Retail investors will be able to start trading before that
Crypto will still be banned in mainland China
He still expects headwinds for Hong Kong based crypto companies
