IL Route 59 NB, I-55 (Shorewood, IL) to I-88 (Naperville, IL) | VirtualRoad

Welcome to our next VirtualRoad Series! This is part 1 of 4 going northbound on IL Route 59 in the far west side of the Chicago Area. We start our trip getting off of NB I-55 in Shorewood, IL and the trip ends at I-88 (Reagan Memorial Tollway) in the Far Northwest Side of Naperville, IL. This is one of the busiest roads in the Western Suburbs and for good reason. We cross through several crossroads cities throughout this series including a few in this first part. You'll notice most of this road is in at least decent shape too (some practically brand new like in Shorewood & Joliet and from Aurora Ave/New York St to I-88). A great deal of development has happened along this first part in the last 35-40 years. Outside of the middle of Plainfield and the middle of Shorewood, the neighborhoods are no older than 35 to 40 years. A lot of improvements have been done along here to accommodate all the new development.
