showcasing an interactive landing page designed with a nostalgic Windows 95/XP theme. The page features a menu for navigation, animations of an airplane flying through sponsors, and interactive elements like clickable desktop icons that provide information about the hackathon, prizes, and sponsors. Jesse highlights the use of AI tools to create the page without coding knowledge and expresses excitement about the unique design and functionality.

This was built entirely with CursorAI and ‪@replit‬. I didn't write a single line of the code. The definition of "vibe coding" if you ask me.

I originally had a "normal" landing page, where the start was a old school command line interface / terminal view, and then as you scrolled down, the second section was a kind of DOS / ASCII art section, then a windows section, then a modern react/TS UI.

I didn't think it was super intuitive to understand how it all fit together though, so I re-vamped things around the old retro windows desktop idea. each component on the desktop view is interactive, the user can click through icons to learn more, or explore the START menu to find the same info. I added a fun little airplane animation that pulls a banner across the sky with each sponsor name rotating through the banners.

With ‪@replit‬ I was easily able to add a PostgreSQL database linked to the "registration form" in the futuristic / modern part of the website to register for the hackathon. This is a neon database product behind the scenes and super easy to interact with within Replit's UI.

Overall I'd say I'm super proud of how this little website came together, I learned a lot, it was the most unique project I've made to-date.
