Forward and Inverse Uncertainty Quantification for Robust Wind Farm Design and Control

Описание к видео Forward and Inverse Uncertainty Quantification for Robust Wind Farm Design and Control

IEA Task 44 Work Package 2 hosted this presentation by Kerry Klemmer and Michael Howland of MIT. Their presentation was recorded in April 2023.

In the realm of wind farm control, accurate predictions hinge on models that heavily rely on wind condition inputs such as wind speed, direction, and turbulence intensity. However, the inherent uncertainty in these inputs—stemming from sources like in situ measurements, numerical weather predictions (NWP), or turbine measurements, coupled with variability in time averaging windows—poses significant challenges. This video delves into a research goal aimed at quantifying the uncertainty in predictions of annual energy production (AEP) and farm efficiency. Join us as we explore the impact of uncertainty in the source of wind condition input data and the level of description of turbulence intensity on wind farm control models.
