Mercer County Unknown: Springfield Furnace

Описание к видео Mercer County Unknown: Springfield Furnace

"Mercer County Unknown" is a series of videos documenting some of the county's lost, forgotten, or undisclosed locations. The second video in the series features the Springfield Furnace near the base of the beautiful Springfield Falls. Built in 1837, the Springfield (Seth and Hill) Furnace was the first furnace constructed in Mercer County, PA. Boasting a 38 foot waterwheel that was the second largest in the state at the time. After having been in use for several decades, only remnants of the furnace still remain. Once on private property and the site of an archeological dig, the land around the furnace has a new owner. At the site of Cobblehaus Brewing Company, the furnace will soon be enjoyed by many.
