Haemin crystals experiment, a Teichmann test for blood, is also known as haemin crystal assay. It is used to determine if blood is present in a sample of interest. This assay is used by experimenters, or investigators to detect human blood from crime scenes, to confirm if an unknown sample indeed contains blood.
Dr. Teichmann made this forensic discovery in 1853. Also called Teichmann crystal, this test is used to determine the presence or absence of blood in dried stains.
