In this video, Mr Prateek Agrawal, MD & CEO, Motilal Oswal AMC will talk about how to build a core and satellite portfolio. One can have hybrid mutual funds as part of the core mutual fund portfolio. One can focus on passive mutual funds like index funds, large cap funds, flexi cap funds, large and mid caps and multi cap funds as part of your core portfolio. One can have mid cap funds and small cap funds as part of the satellite portfolio. One must first find out why an equity fund is a top performer. One must also see which investment style is trending and whether this is the reason for the mutual funds outperformance. One must also see if the mutual fund is diversified across sectors. The equity mutual fund must focus on companies which are driving and embracing change.
