Is Paul George The Next Podcast King? l Boardroom Cover Story

Debuting as Boardroom’s June Cover Star, 9X NBA All-Star Paul George sits with the brand to discuss how he’s building his media empire with his podcast and moniker ‘Podcast P.’ PG discusses how his downtime during the height of the coronavirus pandemic led him and his friends to begin creating content, later becoming what we see with his podcast today. He also discusses how there wasn’t a perfect formula to creating the show with Wave Sports + Entertainment, but took trial and error that led him to the perfect chemistry between he and his longtime friends Dallas Rutherford and Jackie Long. While the stage was set with PG and friends, he admits he learned most about the media and podcast business through watching professionals like ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, Ryan Clark, NFL MVP Cam Newton, Retired Super Bowl Champ Shannon Sharpe and more. He also notes that Golden State’s Draymond Green gave him the best advice by stressing that consistency would be the main determinate in the success of his show. Later, when asked who his dream guests would be on the show, PG expresses his interest in having mega stars like Tiger Woods, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Will Smith, Kevin Hart and The Rock as their most sought after guests. Lastly, PG discusses how he still feels like the group has a long way to go on their road to success, despite @podcastpshow being named the #1 NBA player podcast by Complex and how the crew looks forward to continuing to keep their audience entertained through the platform.
