Here's another follow up video in my series of testing out various Performance Air Filters for my BMW E90 325i with the venerable N52 engine. It's another Sound and Rev Test. I ordered one of these RamAir ProRam Universal Performance Filters with the 83mm Velocity Stack direct from eBay UK to see how it would stack up against my BMC Filter and Pipercross.

I had to make some modifications by trimming down the intake section of the velocity stack and also the silicone coupler to make it fit inside the stock N52 Euro Spec Airbox. Once I had all the measurements done and trimmed off the necessary lengths, I managed to squeeze it into the airbox with zero freeplay. In terms of performance, it edges out the Pipercross slightly especially in the higher RPMs and that induction roar is way more pronounced and more aggressive.

To enjoy the induction sound, I removed the cover or the airbox but I was pleasantly surprised that the heat soak in heavy traffic didn't affect the performance. If there was a dip in power, it's negligible. On the go, it really sings. my next upgrade will be to install the larger front grill airscoops to replace the plastic ones I currently have.
