বাখরখানি মুঘল আমলের ঐতিহ্যবাহী একটি রুটি। অতি সম্প্রতি পর্যন্ত ঢাকা শহরে এটি একটি বিচিত্র খাদ্য পণ্য ছিল। মুগল আমলের খাদ্য পণ্যের মধ্য এটি বর্তমান সময় পর্যন্ত স্থায়ী হয়েছে এবং এখন বাংলাদেশের অন্যান্য শহরেও দেখা যায়। মানুষজন তাদের সকালের নাস্তা হিসেবে কোর্মা, শিখ কাবাব এবং মিষ্টির সাথে বাখরখানি খায়। এ রুটি বা বিস্কুটের উৎপত্তি আফগানিস্তান বা এর বাহিরে। আফগানিস্তানে এটি এখনও পরিলক্ষিত হয়। ঐতিহ্যগতভাবে নবাবী আমলের শেষের দিকে প্রভাবশালী জমিদার আগা বাখর খানের নামনুসারে বাখরখানি নামটির উৎপত্তি। এটি একটি গোলাকৃতির রুটি যা তৈরি করা হয় প্রধানত গম, দুধ, লবণ, ডালডা, ঘি, পনির এবং খামির দিয়ে। রুটিটি তাওয়া বা তন্দুরে দেয়ার পূর্বে নানা উপকরণের সাহায্যে বেলন দিয়ে প্রসারিত করা হয়।
