Here’s How NFL Star Rae Carruth And ‘Knockout’ Cherica Adams Met In 1998

In 1998, Rae Carruth was a rising star in the NFL, a wide receiver for the Carolina Panthers. Cherica Adams was a North Carolina native often described as a “knockout.” The two met at a pool party, dated on and off, and eventually Adams became pregnant. But when she refused to have an abortion, Carruth allegedly decided to hire a hitman to kill her and their baby. And on November 16, 1999, five shots rang out on a dark road in Charlotte, North Carolina.
