How to Calculate a Boats Waterline - Archimedes Principle

This video explains a simple way to calculate the waterline for your cardboard boat. This method works well for most boats that do not have noses that coming out of the water at a angle. The video is meant as a fallow up to my how to build a cardboard boat video and should help new builders understand more about boats. Here is the math I used bellow if you need it...

1. Calculate square ft of boats bottom
2. Total up weight of people who will be in boat and the boat
3. Divide total weight by 62.43 to get cubic ft needed to hold boat up
4. Take cubic feet(step 3) and divide by Square ft (Step 1) this gives water line in ft
5. Divide by .083 to get inches for water line
