Isaiah chapter 25: The Lord will establish a Great Feast and Destroy Death Forever!
Description: This short video speaks of Isaiah's concept of complete restoration. For more context one should read Isaiah chapters 24, 25 and 26. The establishment of a great feast recalls the celebration of the Passover (Exod 12), which the Lord established when He brought forth His people from Egypt (Exod 14). the destruction of death forever, recalls the warning that the Lord gave to Adam, that if he ate of the fruit, he would 'surely die' (Gen 2:16-17). Isaiah literally says that the Lord will swallow up death forever, mysterious words, which underline the most descriptive manner in which death will be completely eliminated, swallowed up forever. These words reach their fullest understanding in Jesus' death and resurrection (see 1 Cor 15:54-58).

The Promise of Complete Restoration ‒ Many Church Fathers referred to Isaiah as the ‘5th Gospel’ because it so eloquently underlined and express the great hope for Zion’s future renewal and restoration. The Gospels frequently make allusion to these chapters (Isa 40‒66), because they underline that Zion’s sins will be forgiven and that she will rejoice when her sins are forgiven and children are restored to her.
