The story is the same old, snufkin leaves and comes back every winter and spring; howeverrrr, one spring moomin kinda just started to take snufkin for granted because he was starting to get tired of being sad about snufkin leaving each year so he began to think “oh he’ll come back like always” it did work for him to not be sad anyway but slowly he seemed as if he didn’t care anymore in Snufkin’s eyes. So one late fall, right after saying “see you next spring” Moomin ran back to lil my snorkmaiden and sniff, smiling. And so snufkin thought that he didn’t care anymore and maybe just maybe he was getting forgotten! but as he was travelling somewhere he kept telling himself that he’s just over thinking.
Moomin dreams about snufkin coming back but BOOM he disappeared. Both. Of. Them. He wakes up in terror then moominmama comes running at the sound of a horrific yell, she took care of him.
It’s spring now btw
He then goes out to his worried friends and tells them that he’s alright which from a far looked like he was having SUCH a fun time on the first day of spring WITHOUT snufkin :) little did they(he) know, snufkin was about to come into moominvalley but saw which he feared; being forgotten. He turned away from moominvalley and started to cry...
Moomin sits there and waits “is snufkin not coming back?? Why isn’t he here yet?? I hope he’s alright :(( w-what it my dream was telling me somethin-“ little my comes in then tells him some things that makes him a bit more relieved that he’s able to move on with his day
Back to snufkin~~~~~~
Snufkin doing his thing but all that’s on his mind is Moomin and also he feels real lonely which makes him scared cuz ya know he likes being alone most of the time. He looks up and looks at a bush which looks like Moomin
It’s June now~~~~
Moomin’s still waiting but guess WHAT he is tired of waiting and being sad and worrying so he is going to do something about it. he runs back to his room packs his things. Moominmama comes in worried because he isn’t acting like himself and wanted to talk to Moomin anyway about snufkin but then she sees what Moomin is doing and wishes him the best
Moomin travels out to find snufkin yay! He goes through a lot of hard roots and gets injured from bottom to top. He meets the sorcerer’s cheetah(?) (I’m sorry I forgot what they are calllled) (he doesn’t know that it’s the sorcerer’s though) he’s scared but wants to help and so he waits until the cheetah is unconscious and go helps it. The cheetah wakes up angrily scared but noticed that Moomin helped him so then he thanks him and flies off
Moomin keeps moving forward. He starts thinking.. he keeps thinking of why snufkin didn’t come back but he wanted to fill his mind with positive thoughts so he thinks about the good old times he had with snufkin then notices that he..actually likes snufkin in a romantic way 0-0 then he realizes what he has done and then figures out why snufkin didn’t come back..
He falls onto the cold, wet, grass and starts crying like a thunder storm because he feels like it’s all his fault and that he should just go back..
Snufkin is actually not that far from Moomin at the point and as he walks with his head down, he just gets the gut feeling (senses) that he needs to go the other way. fast. So the runs and jumps and leaps until he sees Moomin sitting there bawling his eyes out. Snufkin’s surprised, shocked, confused yet glad. He doesn’t understand why moomins out here so far away from moominvalley; his home. But happy to see him again. He doesn’t know how to go up to him as he looks around for something until he realizes that he could just do what he had always done
Snufkin blows the harmonica, Moomin hears and looks up as quick as lighting then turns his head then sees his light, Snufkinnnn
Snufkin smiles there feeling a bit scared because he thinks that Moomin wouldn’t like him anyway for not going back but instead gets a HUUUUUGE sudden warm bear hug •0•
They fall onto the grass, Moomin crying while explaining and apologizing for everything and feeling disappointed by himself on top of snufkin. Snufkin’s super glad to hear that he wasn’t forgotten and everything and starts to tear up on what Moomin was saying but he didn’t want to see him cry anymore so he puts his hand onto Moomin’s warm cheeks and tells him that he loves him. Moomin surprised but then says that he loves him too with a smile with tears of happiness.
Woooooo
They got married and had a beautiful baby girl named Sofmin uwu (they got her from the hobgoblin as thanks for saving his cheetah) -not in the animatic cuz I didn’t have time to do so
