This video describes how to build real circuits, with electrical components that you can do real investigations with.

When it comes to practical work it really comes down to the equipment you have at your school. Here are some of my tips to allow you to make sure your circuits work every time.

Before we build any circuit, it is important to test each electrical component individually. These components might include batteries, ammeters, voltmeters, filament lamps, resistors, variable resistors and wires. We should be testing electrical components one at a time but often we can test two at a time and then add in more components once we know those ones are working

Ammeters must be connected in series whereas voltmeters must be connected in parallel.
