Basically the plot here is that Helene, who is Orpheus's girlfriend, was captured by Hades and turned her into stone. Orpheus must travel through the ancient Greece with the help of the Greek gods, to finally reach Hades's stronghold and defeat him to rescue his lover.

This is one of those games that share gameplay with Zelda II, along with Moon Crystal and Faxanadu, though this one is much harder especially if played on real hardware.
