Chatanika Gold Dredge No. 3

Описание к видео Chatanika Gold Dredge No. 3

Located 30 miles north of Fairbanks Alaska the Chatanika Gold Dredge No. 3 has been a fixture there since the late 1920's. In 2013, arsonists burned the structure leaving only its steel bones exposed. Anyone can visit this historic site, it sits directly across from the Chatanika Lodge on the Old Steese Hwy. That road was originally built in 1927 to support the local gold mining industry. Sky Horse Tech visited in July of 2019 when this footage was captured. The smoke in the distance is from the nearby Hess Creek Fire which at the time was 150,000 acres, the largest wildfire in the country in 2019.
