Eythrope Penang Hill Video

Eythrope Penang Hill, is an adaptive reuse project, designed by award-winning practice; BETA Architects, as Architect and Interior Designer.

A lovingly-restored, nearly century-old heritage building, Eythrope on Penang Hill is now a luxury boutique retreat that offers guests a unique experience in the embrace of nature. Built by Edward Bulford in 1929, it was purchased by Datuk Saw Choo Theng and Tan Sri Saw Seng Kew in 1951 and was used as a family home until 2021 when refurbishment works to transform it into a luxury retreat began. The Project wins the Heritage Category of the Malaysia Property Award 2023. The owners Saw Brothers, was commended for their exemplary commitment shown in restoring the bungalow on Penang Hill. The Panel of Judges were also impressed with the honest and minimalist design approach adopted by award-winning Architect Tan Bee Eu and her team at BETA Architects.
