A Triumph Bonneville T120 and the NC500 - Moto Camp Day 1.

I'd been looking forward to riding my Triumph Bonneville T120 around Scotland on the NC500 route for a while; I finally got a chance to do it.

Touring the NC500 on a motorcycle is a true classic ride, however over the past few years, the growing popularity of the route means that doing the ride in the height of summer means the roads are often clogged with campervans and cars, spoiling tracks that seem as though they were designed to be ridden on two wheels.

Going early in the year means that although it can still be a little cold, in April the roads are gloriously empty and the notorious midges haven't arrived en masse yet giving clear roads and clean visors, which in my opinion is how the NC500 was meant to be experienced.

In this video, I've skipped the motorway ride up to my starting point in Inverness, where I stayed for the first night. From there I travelled along the coastal road up to John O'Groats and then on to my stay for the night at Durness. It's a great ride and quite easy to do in one day.
