A character may have a vivid backstory, but it can be challenging to bring it alive–and by alive, I mean bringing it to the front stage of our adventures in a way that players go wild when they see their backstory intermingled with what’s happening in the campaign. NPCs allow us to bridge that gap and create a deep emotional connection between characters and their past.
