Sri Swamiji's compassion towards devotees

Late in the night at Mantralayam, heavy rains started to pour down on Mantralaya. All of Rayaru’s children, sleeping on the floor in front of the temple, in the courtyard were caught unawares and though they enjoyed the cooling rain initially, later on they realised they would have no place to sleep if it continued to pour like this.

Shripadaru saw this suffering and his heart melted. He immediately ordered the doors of the Mutt to be opened. The mutt is usually closed for visitors after 9pm. But that night Rayaru, in the form of Sri Subudhendraru had different plans. The guards were stunned, as this was unprecedented. Swamiji said, this mutt is for the poor, for Raayaru’s devotees and it is my utmost duty to attend to their comforts. He ordered the guards to allow them to take shelter in the mutt till the rain subsided. The old, the young, the poor, the devout, the local, the traveller, all of them found a comforting roof in the mutt, thanks to Rayaru’s karunya which he exhibited through his shishya, peethadipathi Sri Sri Subudhendra Teertha Swamiji.

Sri Subudhendra Teertha Swamiji’s bhaktavatsalya guna was unveiled that night. Blessed are those that witnessed this incident that night. Blessed are those souls that received this gesture of kindness from Shreepadaru.
