At the age of two Nicole was diagnosed with invisible illness called Cystic Fibrosis. There is no cure for this disease. She has developed Cystic fibrosis related diabetes, asthma and has had over 20 sinus surgeries. 


Waking up to do lung therapy or taking hundreds of pills a day is not an exaggeration for someone living with CF. This is her normal. 


Growing up Nicole felt like any normal kid.She played many sports from track & field, softball and volleyball. 


Nicole was hospitalized at the age of 9 years old which was rare due to the fact most CF children are hospitalized earlier. She is strong and resilient even as a kid.


Up until highschool her CF started to take a toll on her body and she permanently excused from school because she had developed a superbug called atypical mycobacterium avium complex (MAC).



Nicole is current has low functioning lungs and she is on the waitlist for a lung transplant. 


The last two years of Nicole has been difficult due to the fact she is in the hospital a lot more and her lung function is low. She is also at the last stage for a lot of her antibiotics and  her right lung is currently low functioning 


Even with the day to day chaos, her husband Ben has been there to support Nicole since the inception of their relationship

New York has always been a dream for Nicole. It is a special place for her 

Nicole has always dreamed of going to  New York to see a true Broadway show. In Kelowna where she resides is only a small community and not New York City.   

She has seen countless shows and loves anything live. She has always dreamed about being an actress.


Nicole and her Husband got to stay in the heart of Time Square at the Hotel The Row NYC


They visited Time Square during the evening and took countless photos

Nicole got a chance to wave down her first cab in NYC


They explored the iconic Central park and visited the Boathouse which is a must visit for any movie fanatic. 


After visiting Central Park, dinner was at the fantastic Candle 79

After dinner, everyone got a chance to go back to the hotel, rest up and we were off to the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Which was conveniently located down the street from the hotel. 

Hamilton is one of the greatest shows on earth and Nicole got to sit so close that she may or may not have been spat on by an actor or four. 


The events director may or may not have shed a tear or two as well. 


The show was incredible and it was a fast paced, high octane and was beyond expectations for everyone.
