NOTES:
All territorial disputes with the USA involving land borders are given to the USA. However, island claims that are not present today were not shown after a certain point due to a variation in enforcement of the claims. The years of presidential ascent are NOT incorrect. I have taken the first FULL year of service as the year I change the president. Self-proclaimed countries that declares independence (Other than the Confederate States and Vermont) were not shown, due to a lack of independent administration and recognition. The gray in the southern states following the Civil War refers to their absence in congress. Occupation that were not permanent for more than a year were not shown. Military invasions were not shown.

ERRORS:
The borders of Spanish America may be slightly off.
Certain territories such as Kingman Reef are incorrectly shown as claimed before the US Government claimed them.
Changes in the borders of the Panama Canal Zone are not shown.
Japan is incorrectly shown as a territory of the USA for a few seconds.
The color of Louisiana is incorrectly shown as the color of the ocean near the end.
